Ramsey Stone Consultants provides independent dimension stone consultancy for projects across the Gulf: stone specification and sourcing, quarry and factory quality control, slab approvals, expediting and installation inspection. We are currently appointed on major developments in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Kuwait, acting for developers and main contractors who need certainty that the right stone arrives on site, on specification and on programme.

Current Gulf appointments

  • Mall of Saudi, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: appointed by Majid Al Futtaim as chief stone consultancy, covering the sourcing, production and installation of over 7,000 square metres of external facade stone in limestone, granite and marble for the Kingdom’s flagship retail and leisure destination.
  • Tilal Al Ghaf, Dubai, UAE: appointed by Majid Al Futtaim as stone consultancy for this three-million-square-metre mixed-use community, specifying stone across its neighbourhoods including Harmony, Elysian Mansions and Lanai Islands.
  • New Palace of Justice, Kuwait City, Kuwait: appointed by MAK Group as chief stone consultancy, with materials including Classic Roman Travertine (some 80,000 square metres on a portion of the exterior facade alone), Statuario Altissimo, Sierra Grey Granite and Bianco Altissimo.

Beyond the Gulf, our portfolio spans landmark stone projects worldwide, from the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York to Renzo Piano’s Valletta City Gate in Malta. See the full project portfolio.

What we do for Gulf project teams

  • Specification and sourcing: selecting materials that perform in the Gulf climate and sourcing them from quarries across Italy, Turkey, Oman, India, China and beyond. Read about dimension stone and how it is specified.
  • Quarry and factory QA/QC: independent natural stone inspection at origin, including block selection, tolerance and finish checks, and packing inspection before shipment to the GCC.
  • Slab approvals and dry lays: managing book-matching, vein arrangement and range approvals with the architect before fabrication commits.
  • Expediting: daily production tracking and logistics oversight to protect the programme on fast-moving Gulf projects.
  • Installation inspection: verifying delivered material against specification and monitoring installation quality on site. See our construction-phase services.

Delivering at giga-project scale

Gulf developments move at a scale and pace that leaves no room for stone failures: a single non-conforming shipment can hold up entire zones of a programme. Our role is to remove that risk. As an independent consultancy we act solely for the developer or contractor, with no commercial ties to any quarry or fabricator, and we deploy consultants to quarries, factories and project sites wherever the supply chain runs. Frequently asked questions

Do you work across the whole GCC?

Yes. We are currently appointed on projects in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait, and we deploy consultants to quarries, factories and sites across the region and its global supply chain.

Can you inspect stone before it ships to the Gulf?

Yes. Origin inspection is central to our service: blocks are assessed at the quarry and finished material is checked at the factory, so problems are resolved before shipment rather than on site.

Who do you typically work for?

Developers, main contractors, architects and project management consultancies. Our current Gulf appointments are with Majid Al Futtaim and MAK Group.
